A Seventeenth Century Stone Buddha Head.
China, carved from sandstone. A crowned head of the Buddha with traces of the original yellow pigment, this Head would have once belonged to a highly important over-life size statue of Buddha from a large Chinese Temple. The Head is drilled at the bottom and comes mounted on a wooden plynth which is also included in the sale. the head measures 13 inches high; it is 17 inches on the stand. Its price is $10,000.
